Henriette, heiress of Lapussa's fortune and Vámhidy Szilárd are in love with each other. However, it is baron Hátszegi who proposes to Henriette. The girl attempts suicide, but is eventually saved. She is forced to marry Hátszegi, while Vámhidy is suspected of being Fatia Negra, the mysterious robber. The present that Henriette's husband gives her is a piece of jewelry which turns out to be one of the items stolen by Fatia Negra. Yet, she is also led to believe that Vámhidy and Fatia Negra is the one and the same person. Anica tells her that the robber was Anica's former sweetheart, who has been in love with Henriette for some time now. Vámhidy and Fatia Negra fight it out, Hátszegi emerging as the real robber. The baron commits suicide. (Verleiher-Text)
