In this hip-hop comedy, Orelsan and Gringe (playing fictionalized versions of themselves) have turned thirty and watched their dream of becoming famous rappers begin to unravel. Brilliant at laying down a beat and beginning a song, they somehow cannot finish one. After their producers, who have been floating this pair in the studio for too long, threaten to pull the plug, our heroes find themselves with their backs against the proverbial wall - they have 24 hours to release a song in order to get more funding. Despite this threat, these two hilarious losers do pretty much everything but write the song, including smoking, drinking, and wandering around Caen looking for the next cool thing to do. And maybe doing nothing is exactly the right thing to inspire these two to greatness. Featuring a pair of beloved French rappers, Uncompleted Song has been called "An offbeat 8 Mile" by Variety. That you could make a movie around the fact that two slackers who can rap quite well have trouble finishing any song is something I really wouldn't have thought of. But it happened, and the French rendition is not bad at all. It's kind of just slightly funny, but it doesn't matter because the music here is good.
