Wenn die Götter lieben

Bertl is fifty years old and lives on social security. He was an actor, a paper-hanger, a sergeant-instructor in the army, a doorkeeper, and a wanderer. He was married once and twice made an attempt to kill himself. He was saved by Kathi, whom he loves and takes care of now. Kathi is thirty-five and was certified incompetent by the state. She is the mother of one child, loves Bertl, and takes care of Pinky, their Guinea pig. We hear the story of their lives in their living room and in the Prater amusement park, drinking coffee and wine, with music in the background. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
