University student Noriko (Haru Kuroki) feels aimless, unlike her best friend Michiko (Mikako Tabe) who seems to have it all together. Noriko doesn’t know what she wants to do after university, and doesn’t seem to be skilled in any particular area. When Noriko’s mother suggests the two girls spend their Summer learning tea ceremony from a local teacher, Michiko is excited but Noriko balks. Yet when the girls meet Teacher Takeda (Kiki Kirin) they quickly realize there is much more to ‘tea’ than meets the eye. As the months pass what seemed like just an interesting Summer activity soon becomes a much longer lasting endeavor, setting off transformative journey into the heart of tradition, connection, and family.
