Tom Seymour, a forensic psychologist, is walking with his wife. When he sees a man jumping into the icy river, he instantly jumps in to save him. It turns out to be Danny Miller, the same young man who was put away for murder 12 years ago through Tom's psychological opinion. Even though Julia Stiles is there, her presence feels somewhat unnecessary. It seems more like an attempt to capitalize on her previous roles in thrillers. She doesn't really stand out here. The idea of a psychiatrist's past coming back to haunt him isn't a bad one, but as it turns out, nothing really comes of it. It's not intense enough, and you won't be sitting on the edge of your seat while watching the film.
