Highschool-Lehrer Jake Epping steckt in einer Lebenskrise. Er ist frisch geschieden, seine Schüler sind immer abgelenkt und sein Romanprojekt kommt ebenfalls nicht voran. Doch dann zeigt ihm sein enger Freund Al Templeton ein geheimes Zeitportal, das ins Jahr 1960 zurückführt. Al bittet Jake, in die Vergangenheit zu reisen. Er soll eine bessere Welt schaffen, indem er die Ermordung John F. Kennedys verhindert. Diese Mission ist jedoch weitaus gefährlicher, als er es sich jemals erträumt haben könnte. (Fox Channel)

Sufficiently true to the original, but still pleasantly chilling in places. The creators added a couple of interesting sidetracks and cast the past in the role of the villain. MacDonald has control and, despite my fears, Franco fits in well. And Sarah Gadon is a fox and sweet at the same time. i look forward to the coming episodes and keep my fingers crossed. An excellent start.
