Adapted by Erick Zonca from a novel by Dror Mishani, the screenwriter of the TV series Wisdom of the Crowd, Black Tide is an action packed detective film. Dany, the teenage son of the Arnault family disappears. Upon hearing about this, his former teacher Mr. Bellaile goes to the police and offers to collaborate with the world-weary inspector Visconti.
