Nach anfänglichem Mißtrauen schenkt Radio Trainer Jones sein ganzes Vertrauen, und der ihm bald eine ganz neue Welt, indem er Radio dazu überredet, an Football-Spielen und seinem Unterricht teilzunehmen. Doch nicht nur Radio profitiert von Jones' Freundschaft Auch Jones lernt durch Radio, dass es mehr im Leben gibt, als nur Football. Aber nicht jeder auf dem Campus ist den beiden wohlgesonnen und so muss sich Jones bald entscheiden zwischen seiner Freundschaft zu Radio und seiner Karriere als Footballtrainer. Schließlich gelingt es den beiden, allen Widerständen zum Trotz, die festgefahrene Meinung einer ganzen Kleinstadt in South Carolina zu verändern... (Verleiher-Text)

A proper tear-jerker where Cuba Gooding Jr. showed us what a good actor he was before he decided to call it quits a few years later. And because I didn’t mind the story I was happy with the film. A lot of people on this site criticize the movie for being too pathetic and trying to milk the audience’s emotion. Well, I don’t give a damn about that stuff. I was watching a story of a boy who didn’t have it easy and people who wanted to help him at all cost… and I simply enjoyed it. So why go looking for flaws?
