There are still movie theaters that show old-school films and project them using classic film projectors. Or at least one such movie theater exists, which is presented here. I like that there are such places; it's a bit fanatic, but it's an effort to claim that converting film to digital is the same as converting the Mona Lisa to digital. I can't help but think that preserving it digitally is the only option given the material that classic film is made of. I wouldn't condemn it, rather I would try to find the money to digitize these lesser-known films.
