Fauda (2015)

Englisch I caught up with this praised Israeli action-spy series in one week, and it’s definitely worth it. The story focuses on the Israeli special unit Shin Bet, which infiltrates and eliminates terrorists from Palestine. The unit is very well done and it's interesting that real soldiers, who have experienced war, play instead of actors, so professionalism and authenticity can be felt in every aspect. The series has a very good pace, it can be very suspenseful, dramatic, and emotional. The characters are likeable and the more time I spent with them, the more it hurt when someone fell. Each season has a different antagonist, which is a nice change of pace and, even though the first two seasons didn't offer as much action as I would have liked, the third season makes up for it easily. Most of the time, it takes place in the terrifying world of Gaza, where the Israeli unit faces Palestinian special commando of terrorists and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you're interested in Muslim culture, terrorists and its unpleasant world, I definitely recommend this series because nothing better has been done on a similar topic. Season 1 (2015) (S01)

Englisch Not up to full marks with me, but Fauda is still a solid piece about Israel's Shin Bet fighting Palestine. I like that instead of actors, there are ex-soldiers who are very believable in action and investigation. Of the unit, Doron and the sexy Israeli woman impressed me the most, and I also enjoy Wallid. I was a bit disappointed that there isn't much action and Palestine isn't as scary to me as, say, Rakka from the Caliphate, which made me far more uncomfortable, and at times I got lost as to who is Palestinian and who is Israeli, but that's more my ignorance of the situation than the fault of the series. After the first season, a decent 7 so far. ()

Season 2 (2017) (S02)

Englisch The second season is definitely better, but I'm saving my full score for season 3, which I expect the most from. The second season is pulled up a lot by the villain, thick emotions and a few unexpected twists. It's got a decent pace again and overall I'm enjoying it a lot, even if the action is again less than I'd like, and I'm missing a scene to show someone, but still, I'm satisfied. 8/10. ()

Season 3 (2019) (S03)

Englisch So the 3rd season is definitely the best. Not only did the budget increase, but also the action, which is very solid. The setting of Gaza is properly uncomfortable and the special commando of Palestinians was a great addition. I'm definitely excited for a 4th season. 9/10. ()
