The Girlfriend Experience's second season follows two separate story lines. The first is set against the backdrop of the upcoming U.S. mid-term elections and follows Erica Myles (Anna Friel), a strong-willed finance director of a Republican super PAC, and Anna Garner (Louisa Krause), a confident and intelligent escort provider. Under intense pressure to deliver on her fundraising goals, Erica enlists Anna's help in blackmailing a high-powered dark money fundraiser. That leads the ladies into a complicated sexual relationship, marked by an exploration of vulnerability, dominance and submission. The second storyline follows Bria Jones (Carmen Ejogo), a former high-end escort who enters the Witness Protection Program to escape an abusive relationship. After being torn from her upscale lifestyle, Bria and her estranged step-daughter are relocated to New Mexico, where Bria begins to revive her career as a sex worker. (HBO Europe)

Englisch The first season, called Christine, had, besides the erotic scenes, a quite interesting story, a decent actress in the title role, and some specific tension. But unfortunately, everything that worked in the first season completely misses the mark in the second. Even the eroticism loses its power and turns into a kind of summary of disgusting obscenities. You don’t often see such a huge drop in quality in a series. (15%) ()
