Trabantem do posledního dechu

I really liked the previous two movies; they offered good entertainment and had a relatively high storytelling value. I had a bit of an issue with this one, though. The first half in Australia was technically only about situations in which almost every member of the expedition almost died on the road. At first, Dan Přibáň ended up in a bush with a torn back, then Dominika fell and slid on the gravel. And that was basically the entire first half of the movie. The storytelling value more or less nonexistent, except for when they came to the sacred mountain Uluru, where half of the group respected the Aborigines and did not climb the mountain, while the dude from Slovakia did not hesitate and climbed it only to shout out that the mountains in Slovakia are better. At that moment, I felt bad that I had a certain amount of respect for them up until that point, but from then on, it’s only gotten lower and lower. The Aborigines already have it hard enough trying not to drink themselves to death and to survive. They certainly won’t be better off if some crew decides to climb their sacred mountain. Especially if white people are exactly those who will one day oust their nation out of their native land. A shame. However, the second half from Timor immediately lifted my spirits. I immediately remembered the mood of the previous two instalments and the rest of the documentary was much more pleasant to watch. (08.09.2017)

Wenn du ihn liebst, gibt´s kein wenn und aber. Der gelbe Zweitakter-Zirkus verwandelt sich im neuen Streifen von einem Reisedokument in eine doch so schöne Situationskomödie über Reisende. Manchmal irritiert es mich, dass die Filmemacher dem Publikum nicht allzu viel erklären, wo sie sich den befinden und wie sie dorthin gekommen sind (ich habe in Erdkunde mein ABI absolviert, jedoch bin ich nicht in der Lage zu sagen, dass ich mich in der Filmbranche besonders gut orientieren würde), manchmal bekümmert es mich, dass ich über die Crew an Plastiktanks so wenig weiß, doch die meiste Zeit über machte es Spaß, sich von diesem Vehikel mitreißen zu lassen, das genau wie seine Fahrgäste verfällt. Dies ist bis zum letzten Atemzug ist es eine Situationskomödie darüber, wie es ist, mit jemandem ein halbes Jahr zu verbringen, andauernd irgendwohin zu fallen und dennoch etwas zu reparieren, was die gegebenen Gebiete hätte niemals erreichen dürfen. Das ist in der Tat ein Zirkus auf dünnen Reifen, ein Fest der Hartnäckigkeit und der Liebe zum sinnlosen Risiko, ohne das das Leben eine Autobahn wäre. Ich hoffe, dass wieder ein TV-Cut erstellt wird, welcher die wilde Filmmontage eliminiert. Wenn Sie jedoch ein Anhänger des Trabigestanks sind, werden Sie diese Dämpfe bis zum letzten Atemzug genießen. Es ist schwer, dieser Art an DIY-Wahnsinn nicht zu erliegen ... I was expecting maybe even a little bigger drama, at least according to what leaked before the movie, but I laughed even more. But when you think about it, some of those scenes that appeared here are damn harsh on their own. Well, they pulled it off and I hope they manage to pull off even more paths. Přibáň is a lunatic, but a great lunatic. (18.03.2016)
