The smart Limpár Kálmán gets his nephew, Madarász Dani, be elected the chairman of the co-operative in the village. Dani does not like Móka, the new agronomist, (the daughter of the local party-secretary) as he expected an older and more experienced colleague for the post. Móka does not trust Dani politically, but slowly they make peace as they both realise that what is most important for both of them is the co-op. As the storehouse-man of the co-op, Limpár has only his own interests on mind. The villagers are aware of this, but Dani does not wish to take steps against his relative. In the case of the plots around the villagers' homes, however, he still takes a firm stand against him and dismisses him from his position. Limpár is trying to turn the villagers against Dani and the two men fight in the pub. Dani is taken away by the ambulance. Móka would like to go with him, but Dani asks her to stay behind and continue working. (Verleiher-Text)
