Die Gallier haben vor nichts und niemanden Angst. Ihre einzige Sorge ist es, daß ihnen eines Tages der Himmel auf den Kopf fallen könnte. Etwas ähnliches widerfährt nun dem Druiden Miraculix. Beim Hinkelsteinwerfen trifft Obelix den Miraculix versehentlich am Kopf. Das setzt ihn komplett außer Gefecht. Miraculix kann sich an nichts mehr erinnern, schon gar nicht an das Rezept seines berühmten Zaubertranks. Pech ist nur, daß in dem kleinen gallischen Dorf gerade der skrupellose Seher Lügfix zu Besuch ist und sich das Vertrauen der leichtgläubigen Gallier erschlichen hat. Sehr zum Ärger von Asterix. Als Lügfix kurz darauf in die Hände der Römer fällt, verrät er dem Centurio brühwarm, daß die Gallier ohne Zaubertrank und damit nicht mehr unbesiegbar sind. Die Römer wittern ihre Chance, doch wieder einmal haben sie nicht mit Asterix und Obelix gerechnet. (Kinowelt)

Definitely the gloomiest Asterix. The atmosphere of doom and destruction may be too real at times, especially when I consider that this is really a kid’s movie. The humor (which is one of the best things about the movie) is mainly thanks to Getafix, who suffers from amnesia after being hit by Obelix's menhir. If I remember correctly The Big Fight was actually my first Asterix movie (as for the comic books, “Asterix and the Golden Sickle" was excellent).

A typical cheerful fairy tale, this time about how the druid Panoramix has gone completely mad and the dumb villagers have to face both the insistent Romans and a cunning soothsayer. And since we already know our two heroes well, it's not without roasted wild boar, a good beating and, of course, the wacky and omnipresent humour inherent in all Asterix adventures. 80%

This is one of those Asterix movies that has some really good moments, there are entertaining elements here, but at the same time there are places that are completely dull and uninteresting. I consider the fortune-teller to be one of those uninteresting characters, which is a bit of a problem because he is important to the whole story. However, it was precisely because of him that I didn't enjoy the movie as much.
