Nach einer wochenlangen Europareise findet sich der 28-jährige Amerikaner William an einer Straßenkreuzung in Kopenhagen wieder. After a long time a film where I ended up relating so much to the characters that I would love to go with them and sit somewhere, or for a drink, or to have a chat. A nice movie about a nice town, emotional and melancholic. Great soundtrack.

If you’re planning to go on a trip to Copenhagen, I highly recommend watching this movie beforehand. It’s a sort of a guide through the city that shows all kinds of things you can do there. And the director has skillfully incorporated it all into a story with actors who go through an amazing transition throughout the movie. The main character is an American who’s searching for his family in the city and from the beginning, he looks like a typical jackass, but he turns into quite a charming dude whom you’ll end up liking so much that he makes you melt like a candle. The title track “Vi to er smeltet sammen” by Stoffer og Maskinen is a truly masterful piece. I can’t get enough of it, and the same goes for the movie.
