Clarence is a spellbinding ode to scraped knees, torn t-shirts and mud in the hair, as well as to the beauty of the dirt of an ordinary suburb. It is the first Cartoon Network series without a fantastical premise to come along in many years, though that does not in any case mean that it is devoid of fantasy. Especially in the current era of electronic entertainment, it is a stunningly instructive series that reminds both children and adults that grand adventures await them not only in unrealistic worlds, but also just behind the house.
