Der Dokumentarfilm erzählt von dem erbitterten Kampf um ein rund 65 Millionen Jahre altes, wissenschaftlich unschätzbar wertvolles Tyrannosaurus-Skelett. Ein Team um zwei Paläontologen entdeckte die Skelettteile im August 1990 in den Badlands von South Dakota. Zwei Jahre später begannen die zehn Jahre dauernden Auseinandersetzungen um die Eigentumsrechte. (arte)

So after about ten, twenty minutes, I was thinking: "And so what?" It's nice that they managed to dig up a dinosaur, especially of such dimensions, but does that mean it will be an hour and three quarters long? Well, but then the FBI got involved and suddenly the movie gained completely new qualities. Interesting and mainly another beautiful example of how the public system doesn't always work and how sometimes it's ridiculous. Unfortunately, the consequences of ridiculousness are not.
