Portrays the legendary waterway between Tampere and Virrat on board the renowned steamboats Pohjola and Tarjanne. The waterway is 135 kilometres long, giving travellers wide open lakes, channels, floodgates, islands, and desolate wilderness. One of the writers, Heikki Asunta from Ruovesi, is a poet of "the road". Narrated by another Ruovesi-born, Reino Hirviseppä. (Tampere Film Festival)
