Darband

An attempt at a raw story, with shaky camera, and maybe a few ideas here and there. Solid potential but significantly untapped, it lacks a stronger dramaturgical line and pace. Many dialogues for nothing. There are a few interesting shots, with camera through the eyes of the main character. The ending predictable and straightforward, without leaving any room to think or resonate. Much more training is needed before it's good enough for Hollywood, but there is definite potential here. For the few coins it cost, it's a fairly solid work made with love for film. (12.01.2014)
