There are movies where when you find out that it is based on a true story, the whole story suddenly takes on a new meaning. That was the case with the film "Life of a King". It seemed to me just like an incredibly naive film about a man who wants to give meaning to children from a troubled neighborhood and give them direction by teaching them how to play chess. But this club actually exists in real life, and it really works and helps children. Cuba once again shows that he is a good actor and that he is a bit wasted on action nonsense like "Deception". It's not a great film, but it's human, and that's nice too.
