Concrete Blondes

Lately, quite a few movies have been made where action girls are the main protagonists. Whether it's Violet & Daisy or Spring Breakers. Concrete Blondes follows a similar spirit, just aiming to be a bit more straightforwardly humorous. The screenplay indulges in various temporal leaps, albeit somewhat half-heartedly introduced to avoid any confusion, ensuring that the viewer immediately understands what's going on. However, a few good scenes, though far from great, cannot rescue the screenplay itself. Thus, it becomes a dull ride with one interesting heroine unnecessarily sidelined. (12.04.2014)
