Im Sherwood Forest hilft der schlaue Fuchs Robin Hood mit seiner Räuberbande den Armen. Mit vielen cleveren Tricks gelingt es ihnen immer wieder, dem raffgierigen Prinz John das Gold aus der Tasche zu ziehen. Denn dieser treibt gemeinsam mit seinem Handlanger, dem Sheriff von Nottingham, ungerechtfertigte Steuern für das Königreich ein. Prinz John missfällt die ständige Einmischung Robin Hoods gewaltig und heckt somit einen hinterhältigen Plan gegen ihn aus. Mit einem Bogenturnier will er Robin eine Falle stellen, um ihm ein für alle Mal das Handwerk zu legen. Wird es Robin Hood trotzdem gelingen, für Gerechtigkeit im Sherwood Forest zu sorgen? Exactly as innocent and sincere as is fitting for classic Disney movies. Little John takes from the rich, Robin gives to the poor, the sheriff of Nottingham is a villain with every hair, and the beautiful Marian winks lovingly, causing arrows to fly off target. In a swinging song arrangement and with extensive help from a witty snake, an inconspicuous but all the more magical presentation of the most famous outlaw adventure is created. It aims "only" in a romantic-educational direction, but hits the bullseye.

21. Disney-Spielfilm Nach Disneys Tod schien der Geist der echten Disney-Filme verschwunden zu sein, und nur eine Art leeres Gefäß, eine Skizze und eine Theorie blieb. Es ist ein trauriger Anblick, die tierische Version von Robin Hood, in der Niedlichkeit, Rechtschaffenheit, etwas Groteske und hier und da ein Lied zu einem Nichts zusammengefügt werden.

A classic tale of Robin Hood, only with the twist that Robin Hood is a fox and all the other characters are animals. Of course, even Lady Marian is a fox, because otherwise, it could be quite creepy, so the evil sheriff, who is not a fox, can't have her... It's not very memorable; it's just occasionally humorous and brings a laugh here and there.
