Der bullige Bananenbauer Joe besitzt weder Ausweispapiere noch eine gültige Handelslizenz. Trotzdem lebt er von seinem Handel - einfach, aber nicht schlecht. Eines Tages beschließt eine Mafia-Organisation, das Bananengeschäft unter ihre Kontrolle zu bringen. Joe will sich auf Biegen und Brechen die notwendigen Papiere besorgen. Der Kampf gegen die Bürokratie ist mindestens so aufreibend wie der gegen die Mafia. (kabel eins)

It's not the same without Hill, but Joe is a nice guy. We've seen the confrontation of the good-hearted yokel with the wild city life many times before, so Banana Joe can't surprise us with anything, but at least we'll have a good time in his presence and enjoy the title track, which has a liveliness that beats almost the whole movie.
