Star Trek: Der Aufstand

Star Trek für geladene Gäste, einige in der Tat netten Witze über Mr. Worfs unantastbare klingonische Hoheit, exzellente Etüden von Data, Riker und Captain Pickard. Es gibt hier eine recht interessante aktuelle Überlegung, die Herr Spock wie folgt zusammenfassen würde: "Dürfen die Interessen einer Mehrheit denn immer Vorrang vor den Interessen eines Einzelnen haben?", auch ein sympatisch halboffen bleibendes Ende sowie ein paar vollends standardmäßige Actionszenen, bei denen Kenner der Serie wohl kaum in die Begeisterungsstratrosphäre gelangen werden. Am Ende gewinnt jedoch eine angenehme Atmosphäre der Welt einer ewigen Jugend Oberhand, das familiäre Wohlbefinden am Kamin namens Enterprise sowie entspannte Witze. Für Fans dieser Serie ist dies ein willkommenes Beisammensitzen am kosmischen Feuer, für Passanten wahrscheinlich ein eher lebloser Schluck. Natürlich gibt es in der Raumschiff Enterprise – Das nächste Jahrhundert-Serie weitaus bessere Stücke. (14.01.2007)

Regardless of the fact that the first few scenes scared me with their theme of a beautiful, defenseless, and endangered planet, everything changes once the action moves to the Enterprise. Frakes' directing is flawless, just like in First Contact, and he adds surprisingly excellent jokes to the war dilemmas (the consequences of the planet’s effects on the crew are exactly on the border of refreshing innovation and slight bizarreness). However, the immense credit for the final impression goes to Picard's character. I don't want to favor the old guard, but I was most satisfied when the captain became almost Kirk-like, principled and rebellious. The only flaw is the overcooked finale. There were too many complications in it, but the intense meeting of the two captains saves it to a great extent. Otherwise, there is a surprising satisfaction and realization that Jonathan Frakes truly saved this film series. 75% (20.09.2009)

No, I simply can't get used to this crew. It reminded me of the "Stargate" episodes which I didn't particularly like. It's quite amusing at times, there are interesting relationships and character development - Jonathan Frakes will shave! - but overall, it just doesn't entertain me as much as the movies with the old crew. There's simply some nostalgia in that, nothing can be done about it. (13.04.2015)
