Gravity Hill Newsreel: Occupy Wall Street, Series One and Series Two

During the Occupy Wall Street protests last October, documentary filmmaker Jem Cohen regularly visited the movement’s headquarters and shot video footage that he gradually published in the form of a series of short films shown before the main feature at New York’s IFC Center; they were also made available online. The immediate, uncommented impressions of events on Wall Street are edited with a sense for rhythm, and the dynamics are defined by the film’s soundtrack.
