Tsubaki Hibino is a young teenage girl with a talent for styling other people's hair. Yet, Tsubaki suffers from low self-esteem and isn't very comfortable styling her own hair. She also has a tendency to dress old-fashioned. She's teased at high school because of this. One day, popular male student Kyota Tsubaki targets Tsubaki for teasing. An unpretentious romp with no comedy line. I'd read the source material, so I knew what to expect, and I was also curious to see what they'd cram in from the manga and how. Honestly they did it in a novel way. They gave space to the more important scenes and put the less important ones in the background in a "diary-like" manner. I liked the soundtrack. The acting wasn't bad either. They play high school kids, so you can't expect any miracles. Perfect for a date movie. The Japanese know how to make money. ;-)
