Pursuit of Loneliness

A slightly unconventional take on hospital films. No action, no frenzy in saving human lives, but an almost documentary depiction of the procedures that follow the end-of-life. The black and white picture, aesthetically naturalistic shots, the space filled with non-actors, and the plot that is primarily unattractive, evoke a realistic atmosphere of the story that unfolds in two parallel, non-chronological lines. One uncovers memories of the last day of an old, lonely person, while the other explores the consequences of loneliness. The second feature film by documentarian Laurence Trush, once again contends with a socially marginal topic. (Febiofest)
