Days of wrath. On August 15th 2005, Israel began disengagement from the Gaza Strip. In a unilateral move decided by the Israeli government, the Jewish settlers had to leave their homes. The Israeli Army is in charge of the evacuation, a highly controversial mission, not only in the public opinion, but throughout the troops. While the radical settlers resist their removal blocking roads and crying in despair – the Army tries to take control of the situation using as little force as possible. Yoav Shamir obtained unprecedented access to the Israeli Army and the settlers, as well as to General Dan Harel, Chief of the Southern Command, who was in charge of the disengagement.
