Englisch An incredibly powerful film where France confirms once again its immense cinematic qualities. I love courtroom dramas and here the atmosphere was very suffocating and disturbing. The main character is wrongly convicted of a very unpleasant crime (child sexual abuse) and receives heavy psychological pressure from every side. The ending makes you roll your hands in fists and feel like committing something nefarious. Very good 85% ()

Anyways, what Alain went through was a whole different league and I cannot imagine being in that situation myself. And if I did end up in that situation, I would probably deal with it the same way. On the one hand, this movie seems really heavy and depressing, but on the other hand, it showed me that trials can go in various ways. Havel’s famous adage about truth and love prevailing over lies and hatred is really a mere quote that sounds nice but that has very little to do with reality. You could try going to Paris and telling Alain that… ()
