Like hundreds of thousands of Swedish schoolchildren, when Jacob Andrén was eight years old he got involved in a public collection to save the rainforests. At the time, the money that was collected was sent to Latin America, where it was meant to be used for purchasing part of a rainforest in order to prevent it from being cut down. Twenty years later, Jacob decides to try and find out whether these financial resources actually did go to their intended destination. He also tries to ascertain where the possible part of the rainforest, which he helped save, is located. After some detective work, he discovers that the relevant piece of forest lies somewhere between Honduras and Costa Rica. He packs his bags and makes his way there. During his adventurous tour, he finds out about the difficult life of poor villages and sees with his own eyes how much of the rainforest has already been cut down, mostly illegally for the benefit of mining companies. Jacob Andrén and Helena Nygren's outspoken film clearly demonstrates that individual engagement is of undeniable significance, and that even a small contribution can help bring about a big change.
