Englisch A very emotional documentary that is particularly notable for the large number of reminiscing friends and family members. Otherwise, we don't get much factual information, and the sense of a running metaphor using footage from The Bartered Bride is too much on the edge of artistic license. Adolf Branald will thus convey Jarmila to us as a symbol of the First Republic, the face from Max Švabinský's hundred crown paper bill. A random passer-by, Herman V. Traub, a New Yorker, appeals for good representation of Czechoslovakia through Jarmila during her famous 16 years at the Metropolitan Opera. We hear commentary from Dr. Jan Králík, the editor of Jarmila's memoirs, and Ludmila Matrtajová, founder of the Jarmila Novotná Society. Jarmila Packard, daughter, George Daubek, son, Jana Kittler, niece, and Ing. Jiří Kittler, nephew. Ludmila Dvořáková, soloist of the Metropolitan Opera, Mgr. Virginie Walterová, singer - pupil, Jarmila Fiala, Viennese friend, Prof. Ljuba Medková-Straková, friend, Prof. Miroslav Turek, family friend, Václav Kliment, Liteň organist and singer, Jiří Bašta, native of Liteň, Jarmila Roubíčková, goddaughter, Prof. Ladislav Štros, Opera Director, Anna Filová, Božena Poláčková, Josef Poláček, Růžena Veselá, Marie Fraňsková, residents of Liteň, and Ing. Jiří Holub, Mayor of Radotín. ()
