Englisch Til Schweiger is a great actor, but I must say I still haven’t fallen for him as a director. I’m not saying Kokowääh is a badly made movie. It may actually not be badly made at all; it’s simply made in such a way that it will take me a while to get used to all that gawking and gaping in front of the camera. But that’s actually the movie’s main asset. In the end, the movie is pretty crazy rather than based on real life, which is definitely a good thing because you need to watch a movie like that every now and then. On the other hand, Til is pretty boring and dull in this one, which is made up for by the daughter character, who was portrayed by Til’s actual daughter, who put in such a great performance as a cheeky brat that at times you won’t believe that she is merely acting. Despite all that, Til leaves all that behind and goes on living his life/non-life in an apartment that looks like an Icelandic Telecommunication radio station. ()
