The Virginian

Gary Cooper stars as the Virginian in the first sound film adapatation of Owen Wister's beloved novel of the Old West. Out in the wilds of Wyoming, the Virginian is a rancher who falls for Molly Wood (Mary Brian), a schoolteacher from New England. She returns his affections until the Virginian oversees a hanging. Wood despises the violence of the wild West, and the Virginian must prove his valor to regain her affections.
