Intermezzo

On a visit home, the famous concert violinist Holger Brandt sweeps Anita Hoffman off her feet. She is a promising young pianist and gives lessons to Brandt's daughter Marie. He convinces her that he loves her when he leaves his wife and family and asks Anita to travel with him as his accompanist on a concert tour. She accepts. They tour all the major cities of Europe together. It is all very romantic and when the tour is over they go to Austria for a vacation. Anita learns that she has won a grant to continue her studies and Holger begins to miss his family, so when his impresario Charles advises Anita to leave Holger, for her own good as well as his, she does so...
