Wer mit wem? Für immer und ewig oder doch nur für eine Nacht? Ein Dinner im Freundeskreis. Man macht sich schick, lacht, erzählt sich Anekdoten, gibt an, teilt Erinnerungen und Pläne. Ängste werden mit Witzen überspielt. Kummer und Schmerz gehen in Lachsalven unter. Und für ein paar Stunden macht man sich vor, dazuzugehören. Wenn man die richtigen Gesellschaftscodes kennt, die anderen Gäste – ihre Herzlichkeit, Scheinheiligkeit und gute Laune – respektiert, stehen die Chance gar nicht schlecht, dass es ein netter Abend wird. With a certain amount of malice, Change of Plans could be compared to a telenovela because it contains all the typical ingredients of the genre - relationships, dealing with love affairs, infidelity, family conflicts, friendships, cruel life tests, and even unexpected shocking twists. However, it must be emphasized that the film is significantly better written, directed, and acted than a telenovela. Film viewers expected a comedy, as was evident from their reactions to individual scenes, but Change of Plans is certainly not a typical comedy. Tragic moments also appear in it, although the overall atmosphere is undeniably positive and the story inexorably leads to a happy ending. Ten acquaintances who meet at a party at the beginning, after a year, take stock and move toward mutual understanding and forgiveness. Overall impression: 65%.
