Gente del Po

The journey of a cargo boat travelling along the river Po from the region of Emilia-Romagna to a port on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. The film follows the boat downriver during the course of a single day, recording fragments from the lives of destitute villages along the banks of the river. The film was shot in 1943 but was not completed until 1947. (Karlovy Vary International Film Festival)
