Mary Horowitz (Sandra Bullock) ist exzentrisch und schrill - und arbeitet als Kreuzworträtsel-Autorin bei einer Tageszeitung. Als ihre Eltern ihr ein Blind Date organisieren, verliebt sie sich Hals über Kopf in den coolen Kameramann Steve (Bradley Cooper), der jedoch schnell genervt ist und die Flucht ergreift. Mary lässt jedoch nicht locker und heftet sich an seine Fersen. Angestachelt wird sie dabei vom selbstverliebten Nachrichtenreporter Hartman Hughes (Thomas Haden Church), der mit Steve zusammenarbeitet und ihm nur zu gern das Leben schwer macht. (Fox Deutschland)

A bunch of nonsense with no real story, but I was madly entertained!!! Sandra Bullock, as the insane Mary with her horrible boots, was really convincing. I think the stylists and madmen really got into it... wow.

I must admit that this wasn’t all that bad. Thomas Haden Church’s character is fun; maybe for the first time ever. Actually, the entire movie is fun. Scenes with him are the funniest thing this movie has to offer. Sandra Bullock may look like a mulatto straight out of a ghetto, but you are willing to forgive her for this cringiness, because when you look at the production year, you realize that she’d also been shooting The Blind Side where her talent made all of our jaws drop. So, in the end, it’s all good. It’s a useless mediocre romance in some places and in others, a silly comedy that can however lift your spirits in almost any situation.
