The story is about two refugees, a fifteen year old Somalian boy (Ali) and a forty-year old Iranian man (Massoud) who after two years of waiting for a residence permit escape from the asylum camp. We follow them on the run through Sweden and the film also describes the relationship between the two characters and also their relations with Sweden and with the people they meet there. Even though the refugee topic is relevant in all of Europe, the film is not primarily a political comment, but instead a story about friendship and love. (Sonet Film)

So etwas wie Svěráks Die Fahrt, aber animalischer, hektischer, ehrlicher, offener und emotionaler. Mit gefühlvollen und hingebungsvollen Schauspielleistungen. Es ist schon lange her, dass ich eine so starke und exakte Verbindung der Kamera und des Schnitts mit den Gefühlen der Figuren gesehen habe (viele Details der Gesichter). Eine sehr angenehme Überraschung, die keinen Arthouse-Charakter vortäuschen muss und zu den Zuschauer*innen mit einer universellen Sprache spricht.
