While the first series mixed themes from Dollhouse and The Matrix, Gemini offers a paraphrase (before the fact) of Hanna by Joe Wright. That the familiar faces retreat into the background doesn't bother me, and after a few episodes with no shortage of exaggerated emotional outbursts, Suou also becomes a competent guide to the new places of the depressingly charged world. Darker Than Black is lucky to end on a high note. The ambiguous ending left me pleasantly puzzled, but after longer consideration, I simply can't interpret it any other way than a sober happy ending.
