In 2005, Bangkok begins the second phase of building their city subway system. But they accidentally discover something more. They have awoken an ancient animal which hibernates for more than ten thousand years. The army has to use the troops to block the construction site of the subway in order to detain the monster. The special soldiers are sent to fight with the monster. Even with their hi-tech military hardware, they are still unable to stop the monster. The mythological monster, a garuda, escapes from the tunnel, and begins to terrorize the city of Bangkok (Verleiher-Text)

Garuda falls a bit short in that the Thai film industry simply doesn't yet have the capacity to produce similar special effects-heavy films. In their execution, it simply looks bad for now, not to mention that there are many scenes that are only indoors because there weren't funds for more. The special effects scenes are very weak in places, not to mention the straightforwardness of the story, which really only makes for a two hour film with a lot of effort. I think it's clear that two hours is too long.
