The director has cast the roles of Madách's drama on children. In visionary biblical and historical scenes placed in an open, wild landscape, the scenes linked also in a visual sense, the child Adam and Lucifer go through the history of obtaining knowledge, i.e. the history of mankind. Beginning with the Expulsion from Paradise, they experience the phases of progress, full bloom and decay of different historical ages via the dialectics of thesis, anti-thesis and synthesis. This is contradicted only by the permanence of the scene. Adam, who wants to destroy himself after the Eskimo scene, is stopped by Eva's words; man possesses the chance for a new beginning. Yet behind the child couple looking to heaven on the Lord's demand, there is Death as well. (Verleiher-Text)
