"Everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die first." Mop-headed Pero (Gregor Bakovic) specializes in giving funeral orations in a small Slovenian town. He adds personal touches to his eulogies that bring the mourners to tears. What could go wrong in this idyllic setting? Jan Cvitkovic's film follows incidents with family, relationships, and both slight and huge catastrophes in a remarkable genre mix of an absurd black comedy, existential contemplation about life and death. Cvitkovic's screenplay closes in a beautifully wrought ending that blends comedy, horror, surprise and even a touch of wonder at the mystery of life. (Febiofest)
