Englisch At first glance, it is clear that this is primarily a film about the visual side. It is truly intriguing, and comparing it to "Sin City" is somewhat fitting, although more in terms of the atmosphere of the story. The animation is closer to "Alois Nebel" after all. The film can be considered a modern noir film, in this case even sci-fi noir, where the hero is not necessarily strong or charismatic, but rather the one who makes mistakes. However, there is still a femme fatale and a story that seems to be quite complicated. Or at least one where difficult decisions need to be made. Visually captivating, but less so in terms of the plot. Still, it presents a vision of the future that can make you think a little. ()

Englisch Brilliant animation, which left me amazed the whole time, and amazing action scenes that I could easily watch over and over again - on the other hand, the story is on the level of a short story by a beginning writer, and the characters with whom the viewer does not have a chance to develop any kind of relationship. Englisch The traditionally-connected tale of a headstrong cop, a mysterious woman, and an evil corporation holds the audience’s interest through a brisk narrative and superb creative design that nods to the bygone days of noir. The predictability of the plot (though the last shot is relatively unexpected) and the schematic characters (though very likable thanks to the voices) deter from it receiving highest rating. Overall, though, it’s a very immersive atmospheric affair. 4 ½. ()

Englisch If there is currently a film that perfectly works with comic book aesthetics and can also place it in an actual film script, then it is this neo-noir futuristic detective story. The black-and-white execution is based on both black-and-white comics created by pen drawing and American retouching, and it also builds on the classic black-and-white noir film. It is true that the story is not that original, but still beats most comic book adaptations with absolute ease. Comic book feature films usually offer a few stars in the main roles and above all a generous budget. Renaissance is an audiovisual gem where we can enjoy the play of shadows, various visual details, and real characters. In addition, the ending is quite surprising, and good or evil are not clearly identifiable in advance, and they also overlap in the characters - which is a sign of a good story and a really good comic book. The only thing this has in common with Sin City is that it's based on a comic book. As a film, Renaissance overwhelmingly beats Sin City. Overall impression: 90%. ()
