Polizei? Mein Ehemann ist verschwunden. Er hört auf den Namen Otík. Diese Worte sagt ungefähr im zweiten Drittel des Films eine furchtbare Furie, die Simona Stašová verkörpert. Es ist die erste Sache seit dem Vorspann, bei der man lachen kann. Und wenn am Ende nicht Libuše Šafránková in die psychiatrische Arztpraxis gestürmt wäre, wäre es auch die letzte geblieben. Dieser Film ist einfach schlecht und ohne den ausgezeichnet trainierten Hund und die wenigen guten Momente hätte er auch Rudolf Hrušínský nicht interessiert.

A television play based on absurd exaggeration, dialogue, and a very decent cast, including a four-legged actor in the story. Honestly, the screenplay isn't anything exceptional, and the direction is average for a television production. However, Simona Stašová completely embodies her role as the dominant, haughty official, while the bearded Hrušínský is almost unrecognizable next to his canine colleague, and Libuše Šafránková's usual shy, endearing smile is enough to make her the third part of a marital triangle. Pavel Kříž crowns it all with his monologues, as if they were lifted from some forgotten play by Ionesco. Strangely enough, it all holds together despite being first-rate madness. Overall impression 60%.
