Englisch A variation on CSI in a hospital setting with an American Hippocrates. The entire series focuses on a group of medical outsiders and their untraditional cures for infectious and other diseases. A huge asset and, in fact, the only good reason for watching this is the peculiar creature in the form of Hugh Laurie in the main role. Incredibly cynical, sarcasm oozing, manipulative and unassertive doctor, Gregory House, with a maxim for every situation that is “everybody lies". The fifth star (and the fourth too) in my rating is for him. The fundamental story structure is, like with CSI, the main drawback because the same process of “investigating" the illness repeats itself over and over again. Despite that, this is an above-average and suspenseful series in all respects and you can see that the producer, Brian Singer, keeps a constant eye on the quality, even in later seasons, because it has a rising tendency (rising fairly sharply toward the end). You don’t often see that sort of thing. ()

Englisch Series that stands and falls with the main character, a cynical and highly peculiar doctor who may set the correct diagnoses and have undeniable success in treating patients, but who also irritates his surroundings with numerous remarks and rough behavior. When watched for a longer period, the problem arises that the blueprint on which individual episodes are created is actually always the same... Overall impression: 80%. ()

Englisch I can't say anything less about this one than that it's my sarcastic sunshine that comes out every Monday night... I love his catchphrases, sometimes they make me think. I like the doctor setting and the detective stories and House is a combination of both, so it's absolutely perfect for me! :-) Considering I'm almost all the way through season 5... Wow, I had no idea there were other avenues to go down that House and I didn't go down. This series is really worth it. The "grandiose" exit to the Obama administration. :-) Well, if his departure was "grandiose", then there is no word in the Czech dictionary for a sixth season. ()

Englisch Tragicomic life cynicism and dry sarcasm meet within a brilliantly pragmatic doctor, who may at first glance see his patients mainly as objects of amusing scrutiny, but underneath all that black-humored veneer lies an emotionally crippled, but at his innermost core, good-hearted man. With his charismatic appearance as the unshaven and limping doctor, Hugh Laurie deservedly garners all the accolades and recognition. However, it would be unfair to leave out the rest of his teammates/opponents, the most notable of whom is Lisa Edelstein as the hospital director Dr. Lisa Cuddy, who has to keep officially apologizing to that the madman. The concept of episodes that are not connected does not bother me much, nor surprisingly does the series get boring. Although some of the episodes are lower in quality than the overall average, it is impossible not to love this series. If only for the wonderful life philosophy that "everyone lies!" ()
