Als Scott und Kate Johansen das für die College-Ausbildung ihrer Tochter Alex zurückgelegte Geld verlieren, bemühen sie sich fieberhaft, die Summe wiederzubeschaffen, um Alex' Traum vom Uni-Studium doch noch zu verwirklichen. Do you know that feeling when you’re being entertained by a comedy, but at the same time, you know that it is missing one or two scenes which would blow you away that would justify the fourth star?

This is a comedy that definitely failed to impress me. It’s true that Will Ferrell looks progressively cooler, and there's a pretty nice cameo by Jeremy Renner, but in the final analysis, this is too much of a bland and unfunny comedy during which I basically didn't laugh once because there wasn't much to laugh at.

The theme had the potential for a good comedy, but then the filmmakers somehow got out of hand and made it into a vulgar tale with too much screaming that overseas productions churn out constantly. The mass production that the market demands. But I'm probably not the right target audience. I at least have a positive opinion of the soundtrack, which suits the plot quite well, but I wasn’t blown away by it either. (35%)
