FAMU Four

The FAMU Four series will present four extremely successful films that currently represent Czech cinematography at the world's most famous festivals. Short film Deniska Died, awarded at the Berlinale, sensitively talks about coping with the loss of a pet. Surreal Electra is the work of Oscar-winning Daria Kashcheeva and talks about the mess a tenth-birthday-gone-wrong can do in the head. The film Eighth Day premiered at the prestigious Cannes Festival and follows the escape of a young couple from a religious sect. The last movie of the film mosaic, the animated documentary Rising Above, is an intimate confession of a young woman who survived a brutal sexual assault. (Finále Plzeň)
