Growing up in Costa Rica, Paulo Chavarría never really knew his older half-brothers due to his father losing custody rights in his divorce. As a grown man living in Norway with a family and four sons, he is surprised to see the same pattern here. For even though Norway is a global leader when it comes to gender equality, many children lose contact with their fathers when their parents go separate ways. Does this arrangement really benefit the children or is it a human rights violation motivated by an outdated view of gender roles? (Bergen International Film Festival)
