Englisch The underdeveloped Cumberbatch overplays the main character as if he were playing a tragedy of all the tragedies from Shakespeare somewhere in the middle of nowhere. He has a silly smile on his face all the time which, combined with the normal performances of the rest of the cast, moves his performance to the "edge" of guilty pleasure so you simply fall in love with it. In something light-hearted in the style of The Princess Bride, it might work, but this wants to be an adult fantasy fairy tale. And in terms of excellent set (exteriors and studio setting) and Horner's music it really is. It's exactly the kind of movie that would benefit from nostalgia, because if I had watched this movie as a boy, I would have not complained about its drawbacks (namely: the movie is too long, duo of Ergo/boy who do absolutely nothing during the whole movie is needless, passive hero, who just delivers a spinner, more time is devoted to the exhibition than to the story itself, the mutual inconsistency of the individual otherwise great passages, where if together it works really well, charming second rate villain, the expedition to the lair of Odul, I mean, Lyssy, where fantastic design, the tragedy of one relationship and tension are all present, etc.). But sadly, I complained. ()

Englisch Music a little like "Star Wars", a little like Czech fairy tales. The story is a classic quest, where a group of heroes and non-heroes set out to rescue a princess against a truly terrible enemy. There is an old man, there is a witch, there are monsters and artifacts. Krull is simply an amazing planet where anything can happen. It is fantasy, it is sci-fi, it is an incredible goulash that fascinated me in the past, so I thought it would be worth returning to the film. It didn't disappoint me. Excellent visually, weaker in terms of screenplay. However, this film simply has the magic of beautiful ages and worlds. ()

Englisch The only thing that impresses me about this thing is the honest craftsmanship of all the sets and interiors (especially noticeable with the deadly swamp and the giant spider web) that go hand in hand with simple special effects that feel more lifelike than today's digital atrocities. Otherwise, though, it is more evident than ever that there is a thin line between fantasy and phantasmagoria, which the creators crossed with gusto. The script resembles the work of a ten-year-old boy with an overactive imagination, who throws in everything that comes to their mind. The clutter is so evident that it ends up being tiring. All that's left is the hilarious discovery of the insignificant supporting roles Liam Neeson played in his acting beginnings. ()
