Nothing really interesting happened under the fig trees that day. The film looks good and has a nice colour palette, but the plot is not very engaging. It's one of those traditional festival films that depicts the everyday life of poor people in some exotic location. Every year there are lots of such films in the KVIFF program, and this time I ended up in Tunisia quite by accident. (56th KVIFF)
